My Pity Party
“My Pity Party” explores the fear young adults, particularly women, feel about aging and the role the media plays in amplifying this anxiety. The project highlights the pressure to maintain youthful appearances, fueled by beauty standards that glorify age-reversal and distort natural beauty. Through vibrant birthday party settings and playful makeup, the work depicts how young adults often revert to childlike hobbies or activities in an attempt to hold on to their youth. However, these attempts leave them feeling emotionally empty and disconnected, as they realise they’re no longer as young as they once were. The images capture the isolation and inner emptiness that follow, presenting the quiet aftermath of a fleeting celebration. At its core, “My Pity Party” critiques how media-driven beauty ideals create anxiety around aging, leading to a sense of alienation as young adults struggle to reconcile the past with the present. The project encourages reflection on how these pressures affect both individual identity and societal connection.

Youth on Pause
is a visual exploration of the silent reality many young people face when they're forced to grow up before their time. These images capture the tension between childhood innocence and adult responsibility. Moments where play is replaced by pressure, and joy is overshadowed by duty. This project speaks to the lost years of youth, stolen not by time, but by circumstance, expectation, and survival.
But this project speaks to more than just children, it speaks to all of us. From a young age, society tells us how we should behave, what milestones we should hit, and where we should be at any given point in life. We're often criticised for being too childish, too mature, too slow, or too fast. 'Youth on pause' challenges the idea that growth must follow a rigid timeline, and instead invites reflection on how we define maturity, success, and self-worth. It is a reminder of what we lose when we’re told to rush, and what we might reclaim if we allow space for becoming.

Divine Disruption
"Divine Disruption" is a celebration of identity, rebellion, and unapologetic self-expression within the LGBTQ+ community. Inspired by queer cultural icons like David Bowie, The Rocky Horror Show, and the darker beauty of gothic aesthetics, this body of work explores how performance, fashion, and fluidity become tools of both survival and power. These images challenge the norms of gender, beauty, and belonging, disrupting expectations with something radiant, theatrical, and sacred. 'Divine Disruption' honors the boldness it takes to exist authentically in a world that often demands conformity, and uplifts queerness not as defiance alone, but as art, myth, and liberation.
